Willows

Willows are a massive family of bushes, shrubs, and trees.  Some grow low to the ground, barely reaching a couple feet tall while others will grow to a full tree well over 100 feet tall.  Some varities like the Weeping Pendula Willow will grow to massive arching trees, while others like the Purpleosier Willow resemble a dogwood in shape but bring all of the willow qualities with them.

 There are many landscape uses for willows due to their many shapes and sizes.  Use them as a boarder, transition or a focal piece with one of the unique looking varieties.

 Wildlife managers will find willows useful because of their tolerance to wet ground.  Do you have an area that is wet much of the year and not dry enough to grow most other plants?  Willows do an excellent job of filling this area up with cover and browse.
