Others

The "Others" catagory is a broad list of trees, shrubs, bushes and hedges.

Some are fruit producers like Elderberry or Arrow wood and others are unique species like Corkscrew Willow or Button Bush.  Nearly all of these are excellent browse and or cover producers.

Variety is the key to successful wildlife plantings.  You should consider planting several varieties rather than a higher quantity of any individual species.  You will effectively distribute the availability of browse, flowers, and fruit by offering a wide selection.

Not sure which will do best in your region?  Try a few of several different kinds and monitor their progress.  One trick we use is to paint the last inch or two cuttings with latex paint.  Use a different color for each species, and you will be able to tell at a distance which is which.  The cutting will grow through the latex without any problem.
